Our Legacy

The National Clearinghouse for Commuter Programs (NCCP) was established in 1972 at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) to encourage and distribute new scholarship on commuting students in higher education and share other resources and information about that population. Since 1972, UMCP has, among other tasks, hosted and maintained the NCCP web site, solicited and published a semi-annual newsletter and other commuter-student related publications, collected and distributed resources and information of interest to student affairs professionals who serve commuting students, served as a liaison between NCCP and national student affairs organizations and as executive manager of all NCCP operations.

Effective July 1, 2010, Northeastern State University, Broken Arrow is the new home for NCCP.  The legacy which was established by the University of Maryland will continue forward with new partnerships, multi-disciplinary research and an increased growth in international partnerships and interdependence among student affairs professionals around  the world.
